Congratulations to our Adult National Competitors!

Congratulations to our Adult National Competitors! Adult Nationals took place the end of April in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Davis Tsai earned the Silver medal in the Men's Artistic/Dramatic Interp I-III event, and also earned the Silver medal with dance partner Lisa Chisholm in the Silver Dance event. Jackie Pusztay, an alternate called to compete right before the event, placed 10th in the Championship Masters Junior-Senior Ladies event.

Erynn Komes Wins in Vienna!

The US Figure Skating Association selected club member Erynn Komes, along with nine other U.S. skaters, to compete in the Hellmut Seibt Memorial skating competition in Vienna, Austria. The competition is a "Club International Competition." The Club International Competition programs offers the chance for USFSA members to experience a non-qualifying competiton in a foreign country. The Hellmut Seibt Memorial was held February 5-10, 2008.
Erynn competed in the Novice Girls 93 competition and finished first out of eighteen! See the full results on the competition's website.
Michael Rowland Receives USFSA Appointment

The US Figure Skating Association notified SCNC member Michael Rowland of his appointment as a Regional Accountant. Michael was a Prospective Account for the last 2 years, and has served as an accountant at many non-qualifying and basic skills competitions, including the Dogwood Open. Congratulations to Michael!
Raleigh Area Figure Skaters Compete at 2008 U.S. Junior Championships

The Skating Club of North Carolina (SCNC) is pleased to announce that six (6) of its members will be competing at the 2008 U.S. Junior Figure Skating Championships being held in Salt Lake City, Utah, November 26 - December 1, 2007. Three other Raleigh competitors will be joining the team in their quest to become national champions.
Bronze medalist, Jessica Hu (12), advances to the national scene after taking 3rd place in the Juvenile Girls division at the 2008 South Atlantic Championships held back in October. Also competing are Kay Bergdolt and Miles Addison (Juvenile Pairs team), Tori Look and David Botero (Juvenile Dance team), Jenny Stuart and David Lenz (Intermediate Dance team) and Rose and James Dolan (Intermediate Dance team). Ages for each competitor range between 12 and 17.
Raleigh Area Figure Skating Pairs Team Appointed to Junior Grand Prix International Event

The Skating Club of North Carolina is pleased to announce the appointment of Shantel Jordan (14) and Steven Elefante (19) to the 2007 Junior Grand Prix event being held in Tallin, Estonia, September 20-23, 2007. If the pair team scores well, they will then qualify for another International event in October.
Erynn Komes Takes 1st Place at the 27th Annual Cherry Blossom Invitational

The Skating Club of North Carolina congratulates club member Erynn Komes on her 1st place finish at the 2005 Cherry Blossom figure skating competition hosted by The Capitol City Council in Alexandria, Virginia. The prestigious event was held from April 28 through May 1 and featured many top figure skaters from around the country.
