Club Ice
SCNC offers Club Ice sessions to ensure that our members have access to figure skating ice time solely for the use of SCNC club members.
SCNC members can purchase 15-session punch cards from the Club Ice Chair or from the Club Ice monitor at the sessions. A Club Ice punch card may be carried over from month to month and used until there are no punches left. Unused punches may also be carried over to the next season. 15-session punch cards are $130. If you do not use a punch card, you may pay the $10 walk-on rate per session. Half punches will be allowed, but only on the hour and half hour. Coaches are not charged a commission.
Club Ice Schedule
Club Ice started back up on Tuesday, December 1st! There will be no Club Ice the week of 12/21 or 12/28 due to the Holiday Break. Club Ice is offered on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5:15 and Thursdays from 4:00 to 6:00..........SCNC purchases this ice to guarantee that its club members have afternoon ice available to practice on. Coaches are not charged commission fees on these sessions. Please support the Club and help us to be able to keep offering these sessions by joining us on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Due to the continued low turn out on Club Ice this season, we are opening up these sessions to non SCNC members.........We are doing this in an effort to increase participation so that we do not have to cancel our Club Ice sessions. SCNC punch cards are $135 and the walk on fee is $12.
ALL skaters are asked to check in each session with the ice monitor prior to getting on the ice, even if your card is kept in the "book." We also need volunteers to maintain the "book" during Club Ice sessions.
Hope to see you there!
Monitoring
We use Ice Monitors to manage the lobby activities (punch cards, log who is skating, and collect walk-on fees) and to play music. This is a great way to serve as a SCNC volunteer. If you can help, contact the Club Ice Chair.
Rules
Skaters must check in with the Ice Monitor and have their card punched prior to getting on the ice. Skaters will be called off the ice to have their card punched if they fail to do this. Club Ice sessions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Sessions will be capped for safety reasons.
Harnesses are not allowed during Club Ice due to the number of skaters we have on these sessions.
The Club wants every skater to be safe and productive. Before being allowed to skate on Club Ice, you must read and sign the Club Ice Rules. You can download the Rules as a pdf file, sign them, and give them to the Ice Monitor. Club Ice Rules
In case of inclement weather, we typically follow Wake County Schools. We will also try to notify everyone via email.
