Embracing the Sport of Figure Skating
The Skating Club of North Carolina, Inc., is a non-profit member of the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA) whose mission is to promote the sport of amateur figure skating. Just as important as learning axels is the life experience that comes with participating in the sport. Our skaters represent some of the finest young men and ladies in the area. Most are A/B honor roll students and conduct themselves in a positive manner. The figure skating experience results in confident, disciplined and considerate individuals.
As one of the larger figure skating clubs in the region, we take great pride in our role to ensure that we can provide the best possible opportunities for our members. We sponsor many skating events such as exhibitions and ice shows. Each August, our club sponsors the Dogwood Open, a basic skills and IJS competition with skaters from around the region. We also provide opportunities for our skaters to demonstrate personal skill development through USFSA test and competition structures in an environment that promotes sportsmanship and fun.
The club is open to all individuals throughout the Triangle area. Our membership is comprised of children, teens, and adults. Being an advanced figure skater is by no means a requirement.
